Enhance Work Experience

“Enhance Work Placement Experience for Everyone” aims to enhance career education & work experience opportunities by increasing access of rural students to ‘industries of choice’ in larger communities.

Students living in regional and rural communities are limited by practicalities such as their knowledge of someone who works locally in a particular industry or having a family member in a larger centre. Often, they make do with what work experience options there are locally, rather than spreading their wings and fully exploring their stated career goals in a larger centre.

Using the state wide LLEN network and portal, and through a partnership with the Rotary Clubs of District 9780, students have access to broader industry placements further afield. They are no longer limited by where they live!

This program initially received grant funding from the Australian Government’s National Careers Institute in 2022-2023 and is proudly coordinated by the GSGLLEN.

These two models are by no means the only way to go about work experience, however do provide examples of good practice.
